Buddy's Basketball Association

1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering as a player, attending any event, or using the Buddy’s Basketball Association website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you may not participate in the league or use our services. All participants must be 18 years of age or older to register.
2. Player Registration & Fees
Registration — All players must complete the official registration process before participating in any games or activities. Registration is not considered complete until full payment has been received.
Fees — Registration fees are set at the beginning of each season and communicated through the website and official league channels. All fees are due in full at registration, are non-refundable once the season has begun, and are subject to change between seasons with advance notice.
Refunds — Requests submitted before the season starts will be reviewed case by case. No refunds will be issued after the first game has been played. If the league cancels a season, a full or partial refund may be issued at the discretion of league management.
3. Code of Conduct
All participants — players, coaches, and spectators — are expected to conduct themselves with sportsmanship and respect at all times. The following are strictly prohibited: physical altercations or threatening behavior, verbal abuse or discriminatory language, intentional damage to facilities or equipment, and unsportsmanlike conduct as determined by league officials. Violations may result in suspension or permanent removal from the league without refund.
4. In-Person Games & Events
Participation — All participants must follow rules established by the league and hosting facilities. League officials reserve the right to remove any participant from an event for violations of these terms.
Assumption of Risk — Basketball carries inherent risks of injury. By registering, you acknowledge these risks and voluntarily assume full responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage that may occur during league activities.
Medical Disclaimer — Buddy’s Basketball Association strongly recommends consulting a physician before engaging in physical activity. The league is not responsible for pre-existing conditions aggravated by participation.
5. Photo & Video Content
Media Release — By registering, you grant Buddy’s Basketball Association a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to photograph and record video of you during games and events. This content may be used for website and social media promotion, press coverage, and internal league communications.
Opt-Out — If you do not wish to appear in published media, notify league management in writing before the season begins. The league will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request, though it cannot guarantee exclusion from all content captured at public events.
Third-Party Recording — Participants may not record or publish content of other players, officials, or staff without their explicit written consent.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the Buddy’s Basketball Association website — including text, graphics, logos, and images — is the property of the league and protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce or distribute any content without prior written permission.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Buddy’s Basketball Association and its organizers, volunteers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in the league or use of the website. Total liability to any participant shall not exceed the amount paid in registration fees for the current season.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Buddy’s Basketball Association, its officers, organizers, and volunteers from any claims, damages, or expenses — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of your participation in league activities or your violation of these terms.
9. Changes to These Terms
The league reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on the website and communicated via email. Continued participation after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any disputes arising from participation in the league or use of the website shall be resolved in the courts of Queens County, New York, through good-faith negotiation before pursuing legal remedies.
